and in fairness, nothing is worse than finding a global, and then finding some big hairy monster who just wants to sit there and prevent anyone from enjoying the benefits.
(I'm guessing you got a LOT of skill from the extracting process!)
Yes, it took me a long time (2 hours?) to drill the stuff. And I had to walk back for some repairs :) But, hey, I'm not complaining. Drilling skills are better now what results in less decay of my excavator...

The hunter must have left. I remember killing a raider.
(Im usually eaten by hunters so I would have remembered giving payback to one)
